Hi, I have a 1985 35' O'Day that probably has the original manual Groco toilet. I would like to either repair or upgrade the pump assembly. Problem is the lettering on the pump is so worn that I can't make out the model. I can makeout: "GROCO Model-Hx" but I can't make out the "x". Does anyone have one that is still readable? Also because of the worn lettering I'm not sure which direction the "Dry" setting for the lever is. Is it away from me or towards me? It seems to pump water in both directions. Thanks

Hi Paul

I have an 034 with the same head set up that you have. Mines been rebuilt before but I really can't remember any model numbers. I'll be going to the boat this coming weekend and I'll try to get the information for you. I'll keep tabs on this thread between now and then to see if some one else has given you the information. Sorry I didn't answer all of your question Ditto Mike on the wet/dry lever. Horizontal dry, vertical wet.

the original......

I replaced my grocco head this past summer..... it a Grocco HF maunal head. the "dry" setting is with the lever pushed foward. Straight up it allows water in to flush the bowl. my $.02..when you do head repair, while you're down there anyways, I'd replace all the hses and fittings that go along. Over the years, hose can allow the stink of the head to come into the cabin. Mike C. O'28 "Da Capo" Chelsea NY

Confirmed

Hi Paul: Just got back from the boat and wanted to confirm that the head is a Grocco Mdl. HF. If your boat has the original equipment, that should fix you up. Luck!
