grey water management

Hello all, I have a 2010 43. I would like to find a schematic of the grey water drain pipe system. My system drains head sink water into the shower sumps, and then pumps out. But, the shower sumps seem to go on at fairly regular but odd times even without using the shower or sink. (And, the rest of the hull floors are dry.)

In tracing the system, it seems that there are pumps at the drains, and a pump near the water manifold by the hot water heater under the cabin settee. I would very much like to understand how this system is supposed to work.

Also, anyone know where a useful Beneteau 43 manual might be found?

The sump pump probably has as float switch on it, and a small amount of water left in the hose/sump will trigger it. There should be a breaker switch on the main DC panel for that pump, leave it OFF unless someone is in the head and is going to use water.

I own a 2008 B43 with similar systems. The sump in the floor of your showers, front and salon, is controlled by a float switch in the sump under the cover and a timer switch in the respective rooms sink cabinet. Once the float rises, it activates a timer switch located in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. This switch is a very easily identifiable item, it has an on/off override button that you will easily notice. Each bathroom has it's own pump and those pumps are diaphragm type pumps and are located in the cabinet also. There are two pumps in each cabinet but only one is a diaphragm type.
When water from the sink or shower drains into the sump the float activates the timer switch. The timer switch tells the diaphragm pump to run and keeps it running for about ten seconds or until the float recedes. There may be a back flow preventer on your sink drain line that is allowing water to slowly seep back into the sump. If this is the case you should replace the back flow preventer. I do not think my boat has a back flow preventer on the sink drain line but some b43 owners say theirs do. The more likely scenario is your float may have some gunk on it and you need to clean it so it moves freely. I have owned our boat since new and this system works fairly well but you need to keep the sump and it's components clean. The override button on the timer switch in the cabinet allows you to drain the sump in the event the float stops working, ie override the float. I have had to replace one of the timer switches. It would not work in the override position but it did work in the automatic position so I saved the broken switch as a emergency backup. Some owners say hair can block the sink drain line. If the water is draining slowly into sump you may need to clean out drain line "carefully".
Other than contacting Beneteau I know of no other resource in retaining the B43 owners manual.

The pump under the settee at the top of the water manifold is your secondary bilge pump. That pump, on my boat, is only active when I go to the main electrical panel and select "manual" side of bilge switch. This action activates that diaphragm pump and it stays on til I deselect the switch.
