Greetings! Over the past ten or more years, the practice of carrying a dinghy on davits has become increasingly more popular amongst members of the sailing fraternity. Their use while cruising allow a dinghy to be kept ready for launching, usually with the outboard motor installed. This in turn has added a new dimension to the enjoyment of the cruising sailor. For most however, a davit installation is likely to be something they may do only once in their cruising lifetime. The purpose of this forum therefore, is to allow an opportunity for anyone who would consider davits, to have some of their quesions answered, and perhaps to clear up some misconceptions at the same time. I welcome your questions and will do my best to answer them for you. Fire away!

hi mike....i wanted the hunter owners to know that bought davits from ocean marine systems for my 40.5, and i couldn't be more pleased....the davits were custom engineered for my boat's back porch, and were very well done....mike was great to work with and the price was fair....actually, with the weak canadian dollar, mike's davits were a great deal...i hope my endorsement is not considered inappropriate for this forum, but i feel the other hunter owners should be aware of my positive experience...bob vawter....tampa,fl

Hello Mike, Bought your product at St Pete in water show in fall. Installation was eaisier than stated. Units work great. Only thing I did was brace stern rail at stern opening back down to combing to stiffen top rail. Lifting is quite easy, and dingy hangs nice and tight against arms when tied off. It is great to buy something that lives up to its billing. Hope to see you next time your down for a show.
