I was just reading up on rope Jojoba extract is not a typical vegetable oil, it is actually a liquid wax. All vegetable oils will go rancid and sticky, even nut oils. Boiled vegetable oils cure stiff. Jojoba extract does not go rancid or stiff, and has a very pleasant, slightly sweet woody smell I have never used raw linseed I have used boiled linseed and it will dry and harden.It may be worth a look.

For rope made with natural fiber pine tar and tallow is the best but it will stink and be messy.

Any reason I cannot do the same with a stiff anchor line? I tried just soaking and does not help much. I frequently use an anchor line to trees on shore and most of the line is sitting in the water for weeks at a time.

Nylon rope is nylon rope how you use it defines it as line. The treatment will be the same regardless of the use.
