I know there's been some discussion here about movies but wanted to pass along one that I just saw that was excellent. Check out "Deep Water" which is true story indie film about the first single-handed circumnavigation race that happened in 1967-68 out of England. High quality documentary that included BBC interviews and on-board cameras/tape recorders, etc. Great footage and the story has a twist that I won't divulge here. Hint: Imagine being ALONE at sea for 9-10 MONTHS. It might be hard to find in the local video store but I got mine through Netflix. Check it out...

Kelly-

thanks for the info. Forgive my ignorance, but what is "indie" film?

Also,

this movie is available to rent (2.99) or buy (9.99) on iTunes. Of course, I'm not employed by Apple or anything, just a big fan of movie rentals on iTunes... I nearly never set foot in Blockbuster anymore. Way more convenient (and cheaper) to get them off iTunes. I will, however, admit that the selection is not quite up to snuff with a bricks-and-mortar store yet.

A good book of the same race was written by Hal Roth

called the "Longest Race" it is the last installment of his book Seafaring Trilogy. His stories inspired me to the point of naming my boat after his.
