The wife and I are doing
the Great Loop on our Hunter 260 starting next Jan 2007, I've got it figured the 6,600nm will take us around 14 to 18 months. I have installed 4k inverter, central A/C and heat, microwave oven, flat screen TV, DVD player, 4 type 27 batteries, 40 amp True charger, 1K generator, new 4 cycle o/b, all below deck floresent lighting, pressurised fresh water system, Depth sounder, GPS chart plotter, auto pilot, new standing and running rigging, new main and jib, anchor roller and 2 new anchors, all the spare and back-ups for the above. We want to sail the max. no matter how long it takes. I'll get a new up haul line for the c/b and get the hull antifouled painted in the fall. The wife and I plan on traveling only 20 miles a day 3-4 days a week stopping at marinas on the hook the rest of the time, renting autos to see the sights and playing tourist and smelling the roses. Our route is going thru the Erie Cannal to Buffalo (my home town). We are in the process of selling off the house and all the other stuff to retire at the same time. Hopefully we will see and explore the prime place to buy a 38-45 ft boat to start our next adventure toward the end of this one.
