Check out the pix posted by the NASA folks at the earth observatory web site. Only been a handful of times that Superior was completely socked in by ice. Nice to see a different correlation of air temperature vs ice coverage for the kind of winter we have had rather than the correlation of air temperature to my hydro bills..8^). Me thinks spring is a wee bit away yet. One good from all of this is the water levels should be higher this summer due to little loss of evaporation from the ice coverage and the large snow pack yet to melt from the Great Lakes Watershed.
