I wish I could take credit for coming up with this, but it ain't my idea. Was walking the docks ate Palafox Marina in Pensacola yesterday. Saw the most interesting way to mount numbers on an inflatable, and wondered why no one else was doing this. Very simple and looked good.
Basically it is just like one of the deals that West Marine sells that uses the suction cups. A simple piece of plexiglass, with the numbers on it. But instead of using the suction cups, which work well for bout two hours, this guy used zip ties. Two simple holes in the plexiglass, and zip tied to the grap rope. Actually stuck through the grab rope. Looks pretty good, and I'm sure will last much much longer than the zip ties.
Also of interest we were slipped close to not 1, not 2, but three Island Packet 44's. It's pretty rare to see one of these beauties, none the less three. Basically identical boats except color, and the location of the radar antenna. All three were friends, and all out of Houston. Two of these boats were done in dark blue, rather than the typical Island Packet beige. Learned that this was a 10K option.
