I went to the Defender annual sale this weekend for the first time. What a great place. Tons of stuff, everything at least 10% off of the regular prices with some other deals that were just unbelievable.
The best deals were in the "closeout/clearance" section. I was talking to one of the guys who runs this section. Apparently he has some sort of deal with Lewmar, who is located not too far from Defender. He get's their overstock items. This leads to the great deal for those in the area.
He had 3 32-inch Lewmar Folding Wheels. It appears these are ones made specifically for Catalina and were overstock that Defender got for cheap. They are "Catalina" blue (dark navy blue) leather with a red and blue embroidered lines like the Catalina logo. They look just like the one on the C315 I saw at the boat show. The sale price was $450 (regularly $500) compared to the $1,034.80 list price (normally around $720 from Defender).
I bought one, there were two left last I was in that section. There is a phone number listed for Outlet Store on the Defender website, so you might be able to get them to ship one.
I can't wait to put mine on the boat.
