First off I have no connection to this App or anything to do with it. I saw it in Sail Mag. Check out Spyglass App for IPhone & iPad. Pretty slick. Haven't used it on the water, but I'm playing with it at home.

im not accusing, but only saying:D, just the way this is written it seems more like a "troll" than a thread to share information.... more information here would make it much better for anyone who might be interested if they only had some idea of what you were talking about.

tell us what the app is about.... how might it help us?... is it sailing related?.... why would we look at something that we dont know what the content is and may not be of any interest to us?...:confused::D

I'd say that is one dedicated troll to have 470 posts!

I too saw the article for this app in this months Sail Magazine. Looks like a pretty handy tool; bearings, range finder, and many more functions.

Sorry. Navigation, sight bearings, range bearings, plus more I assume as I get into it. From what I gather only IOS based.

It's essentially a compass reader that can lay over a map.... right?

It looks a little busy for practical use on the water. That's the best I could tell form the iTunes page anyway.

Well, for you Android users, I've been using "Sea Compass Racer" the last few years.... really great app. You can use it like a hand held compass to take and store bearings for tactics or piloting.. or a steering compass with gps speed and location info, countdown timer, night vision, true or magnetic .. etc. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.seacompassr

Ever try taking a picture in bright sunlight with an iOS device, or Android? Good luck. LOL

Joe, I've played with Compass Eye. Pretty cool app. Haven't put it to much practical use but have used it for some simple compass stuff.

Brian, iPhone is the only camera I use, bright sun or not.

Totally agree with you, that's why most of these nautical apps are useless in the cockpit unless it's a cloudy day.

My favorite compass app.

I love using Navionics and GPS Essentials (which also has a bearing compass). But they are not my primary devices. I still use my garmin chartplotter, Ritchie binnacle compass, paper charts and believe it or not a sextant. What can I say? I like redundancy.
