We have had a couple of Nor'Easters here on the Jersey coast in succession lately. My 35.5 stayed closed up for two weeks . .hot days, cool nights, high humidity and torents of rain and wind. On opening the boat up, I noticed a grayish cast on some of the wooden bulkheads . .not black mold but a gray almost suede-like speckling. I wiped it down with vinegar [ I hope the wood doesn't change color or raise the grain]and ventilated the boat. This is first time I have had this show up . .even after winter lay up I never have had this problem. What is it? how do get rid of it and prevent future occurrences? Is using vinegar OK on wood? Any advice would be appreciated . . . Fred Miller S/V M Squared
