Gray Enterprise Portlights

Advise please. Has anybody ever painted Gray Enterprise portlights? If so, good/bad results. I would like to paint mine but I'm worried about what paint to use.

Acrylic paint then seal it OR replace the acrylic lens, which you can buy from this site.
