Hand held or plotter. I use a Ram holder for my hand held, which is a my back up and is mounted at the nav station. Chartplotter is mounted at the helm.

Depends on boat size and type of helm. I have a 22' sailboat with tiller and mount my GPS 276c on the starboard side of the cockpit at the cabin entrance and hold in my hand when using. Novelman

I bought the Garmin 176c

Rad How did you run the wires? I have a 1980 30ft catalina. The controls for the motor are on the side of the seat so there should be room inside the steering housing. Thanks
