Huh? GPS looks up, not down.

GPS uses a antenna to obtain satellite signals, It does not use a sounder. If you are looking to find a GPS with a depth sounder, I don't know of any manufacturer that makes one with this combo. There are instrument packages that has a display, and you can connect depth sounder, speedo, charts, and GPS into it. Is that what you are looking for? Most of them uses a thru-hull transducer unit. Please be most specific, and gives us more details as to what exactly you are looking for.

There are plenty

There are many units that fit his requirements. I think that he could have phrased his question a little better. What he is looking for is advice on a chartplotter/fishfinfer combination. So how about helping him instead of sarcasm.Hummingbird,Lowrance and Garmin all make models of these

It was not my intent to be sarcastic.

And what I said about GPS with sounder, well, I have seen GPS with chart plotter but haven't seen it with a depth sounder only. Except those with multi function units with a whole slew of options including fish finder + depth sounder combo.

I have two

GPS chartplotters-fishfinders on board. They work just great both are Garmin GPSMAP 168 Sounder and a GPSMAP 178C Sounder. Just thought you would like to know. John USNret

Humminbird GPS/ChartPlotter

new for 2006 is the 787C2. I don't have it mounted yet, but it uses the transom transducer just like the 300TX that was mounted on my Mac26X when I got it. Like some one said for the GPS, it will need an antenna to pick up satalites.

GPS/Sounder

The Garmin 192C fits the bill. It has GPS, mapping, and sonar all in one unit.

I also use the Garmin 168

unit, but be advised they were discontinued last year. The new model is, if I remember correctly, the 182. Something to consider when buying is that the larger the screen, and the color models, draw more current from your battery. I went with small, and black and white display.

im giving you the exact same response

as when someone asked last week... :) i have a Eagle 500C, its the same as the new lowrance LMS-337C DF. The new version has Nema 2000 interface. Its a combo unit that has full sonar & chart plotter function and a 5" VGA color screen. I have a Navionics gold XL3 chip in it for the SW USA + Bahamas. Total price for the eagle 500C + navionics was 700$ (499 for the GPS/chart plotter/sonar and 200 for the map chip) at basspro. I really like the unit, small and simple interface and reliable. It seems practical sailor liked it too, it got the pick of the small plotter round up.
