What's wrong with it?

Does the motor still run, but it won't pump anything...or does the motor not run at all? When the motor runs, but it won't empty the tank, it prob'ly only needs a new impeller. If the motor doesn't run, there's prob'ly nothing wrong the macerator itself...it's most likely an electrical problem--blown fuse...loose or corroded connection...bad switch... If it runs, but blows the breaker, it's prob'ly just clogged. Any of the above, you don't need a new macerator, you just need to fix the problem. If it's rusty, you prob'ly do need a new macerator.

Not enough info to help you

I replaced mine once when all I needed to do was tighten the deck cap. The deck fitting was leaking air and so the pump would not prime. Another time, a screw found its way into the pump and stopped the motor from running. Peggy has some good quetions too.

Thank you!

You got it! <If it runs, but blows the breaker, it's prob'ly just clogged.> Throws the breaker instantly ... I'll pull it this weekend and take a look for an obstruction. Again, THANK YOU! Jeff

Thats what mine did

when it sucked up a screw. It would trip the breaker immediately. I fretted for a few weeks before attempting a repair only to find that it took just a few minutes to remove the screw and reassemble. Nothing else was necessary to fix it.
