Been going through the mid off-season depression lately so I took a short train trip to the AC Int'l Boat Show today with the First Mate. Although it was a primarily a go-fast show, Beneteau, Jenneau, Catalina and Hunters were represented. Had fun going through them all, even the power boats! Got a chance to look at the new gadgets and Sean took part in a line-handling seminar and did quite well. He even said that when he signs his first NHL contract, he'll buy me the Oceanis 50 with the blue hull.
Weather was great so we went to the marina and checked on all of the neighbor's boats that stayed over the winter and then to lunch at his favorite tavern, The Rod and Reel, so he could shoot some pool and have lunch. My only concern was that his pool skills have improved immensly...for a 7 year old!
Nonetheless, I feel like a new man and late March doesn't seem too far away now!
