One of my Gori blades is sunk on Grand Cayman Ils.

Had one, Loved it. BUT,,, make sure both inside and outer set screws are installed TIGHTLY or you will probably drop a blade. I did, pulling into Grand Cayman Island at 0400hrs back in '92. The bottom there is bronze colored so we couldn't find the missing blade. If you lose one side, NOTHING happens, no forward or back. You are back to just sails. I sent what was left back to Gori and they told me they couldn't replace a blade and would have to sell me a new one at full retail. They said mine was mostly worn out anyway. It went from Brownsville Washington (Seattle) through the Panama Canal and to the Caymans and they said it was WORN OUT! That is my experience. I bought a Max Prop. Still have it. Fred

What size?

What size do you need I have one that I used on my Hunter 33.5. I can't remember right now what size it is.

Great change in sailing...

I obtained one for a case of beer. It had been beaten off a shaft, and was a little chewed up. Gori sent me new pins & set screws, and I rebuilt it. It has made a world of difference as far as sailing goes (speed & acceleration), and the only difference in motoring is a slight increase in vibration. I would put one on any boat I had. Steve

... on "Flex-O-Fold" or "FOF" In that thread I quoted a note that had test data comparing various folding props on the market. I don't think Gori was included, but the other major brands were. The quoted note gives some interesting insights into how to quantitatively compare performance, too. --Ron

Gori - the secret weapon

We've had our Gori prop for 14 years. Never had a problem. It's great fun to slide right past another sailboat in light air and have them tweaking every thing in sight. No vibration since we put the gear into reverse while sailing. Since it's geared, it always opens and always closes.
