Hi everybody. I have to replace the gooseneck casting on my O'day 23. I got the part from D&R Marine, and there are no holes to attach it to the boom. Does anyone have any advice for me? Cheers!

Hi Paul...

...I bought what I think is the same thing for my 22'. You drill the rivets out of the one that is on it now...then slide the new gooseneck in the end of the boom...then drill holes in the gooseneck using the ones already in the boom for the template. I got some stainless steel rivets to put back in mine. (Haven't done it yet, getting ready to.) I think we are talking about the same thing here...if not...sorry. Jack

That's exactly what I'm talking about...

Thanks Jack! That's all I needed to know. PT

Goose Neck

Paul, If you don't want to use rivets, you could always drill some holes and tap the goose neck extrusion for threads to hold it in place with some small Stainless Steel machine screws. My mast step was attached this way years ago at Rig-Rite in Warwick RI. Joe
