The goosenec casting on our boom has two tabs, and ours broke off on a rough day. We're not sure who the manufacturer is, so we are thinking of buying fittings (yoke and toggle) from Kenyon and bolting them to the casting. We would have to grind off the broken tab ends and drill a hole through the casting to attach the new fittings. Does this seem reasonable, or does anyone have any suggestions?

Photos would help but Rigrite would be my first call. There is another company too but the named escapes me.

Rigrite indicates that the 7.3 mast is by Kenyon. They are definitely the source for Kenyon parts.

Here are a couple of photos, front & back. Each tab on the front had a hole, and a bolt went through to hold the gooseneck in place. The flange on the back slides into the end of the boom, and it is held in place with a screw through the boom into the flange on each side. I checked the Rigrite site, and it looks like all of the equivalent parts for Kenyon booms use a steel fitting ("yoke") bolted to the cast aluminum end plate, rather than aluminum tabs cast as part of the plate. I suspect this might be a improvement because (as we discovered) the cast tabs were susceptible to breaking off...?

Did you contact rigrite to see if they have one? I'd probably see a machine shop to see if they can cut one out of solid aircraft grade aluminum if rigrite can't help.

We're trying to figure it out. It doesn't appear to be one of the models that Rigrite has listed, but they might be able to do something.

There is a history of several mast companies using the same extrusions. From the appearance of your castings, I would check with:

Dwyer Aluminum Mast Co. DAMCO
