For those interested, Good Old Boat Magazine has a article on the Seidelmann 299 in their November/December 2010 issue.

Seidelmann/Cherubini

Thanks for the tip. Guess I will have to get on down to Borders. There has been a Seidelmann 38 for sale in our marina since 1998. The lines are so similar to my H37C by John Cherubini. I guess they knew each other but have no idea if they collaborated. It's a pretty boat but needs some TLC.

Bob Seidelmann and John Cherubini did know each other and worked together on early Hunters, The Seidelmann 37 (there was no 38) was designed years later than the Hunter 37 Cutter.

But Surveyor, the one in my marina has "Seidelmann 38" written right on the side of the boat. You can see that in the link to the boat in my first post. Are you saying it is a mislabeled 37?

Well I can tell you that is the same boat I knew as the Seidelmann 37. I know no new tooling was done after I left the company, so either Seidelmann renamed the model a 38 with out making any changes which happens all the time in this industry, there are subtle changes to the exterior I am missing, or????
The only difference I see on the exterior is the window line which may or may not have been done at the factory, there does appear to have been interior changes as I recall the 37 had a forward facing nav station.
The beam, waterline length, displacement and keel weight check out to the 37 specs.
