Earl bashing up the east coast. Gales ripping up Lake Superior...here is our weather forecast (granted, this is offshore, my cruising grounds will be a little better, but still)

Early This Morning
West winds 20 to 30 knots...with gale force gusts to 35 knots. A chance of showers. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
Today
Northwest gales to 35 knots becoming north gales to 45 knots by mid afternoon. Showers likely through early afternoon...then a chance of showers by mid afternoon. Waves building to 12 to 17 feet.
Tonight
North gales to 40 knots becoming northwest gales to 35 knots after midnight. A chance of showers. Waves subsiding to 9 to 12 feet.
Saturday
Northwest winds 20 to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to 25 knots by mid afternoon. A chance of showers. Waves subsiding to 4 to 7 feet.
Saturday Night
Northwest winds 15 to 25 knots. Waves subsiding to 3 to 5 feet.

Waves 12 to 17 feet! Yeah, I think we'll stay in the marina today.
