Trojan 105's

Bob, Current and prevaling wisdow says that golf cart batteries are better than the marine deep cycle in my opinion. Some of us use them. They have high re-cycle rates and provide large amps. I have 4 T105's in series and parrelled to supply 450 amp/hrs of that, I can use 225 amp/hrs which is 50% of capacity. Big thing is they are inexpensive compared to same rating in marine deep cycle batteries. Jim S/V Java

Two 6-volts Easier To Transport Than One 12-volt

A major consideration for me would be the difficulty of moving a single large 12-volt battery. Frankly, even the 6-volts are big enough! My first set of golf carts were T-105s (4 batteries) and they lasted for years. I'd have to look at my records but I think it was about 9 years. I replaced them with "heavy duty" golf carts rated at 245Ah per pair, thats 490Ah for two pair. Something to consider if you're looking for a tad bit more capacity. Cost was slightly more per Ah than for the T-105s.

Two more cents....

I use 4 T-105 Trojans and feel that they are better than 4 12V in parallel. The big issue is that I feel that they are a higher quality battery that is accepted industry-wide for golf carts, floor maintenance, and a variety of other deep cycle applications. If 12V deep cycle batteries were better, don't you think the golf cart industry would use them?
