Going Sailing...for the honeymoon

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
I got married yesterday. My wife is only two seasons into sailing but she is learning the ropes. We are heading out for Solomons Island this coming weekend and we are going to be staying in a bed and breakfast for a few days when we get there.

Java Jim and Joan showed up for the wedding. I did hear someone yelling about selling me more batteries because of my wife's hair dryer and a few Arrrrrrrrrrs in the crowd. All in all it was a great time.

Let's hope that the weather cooperates next weekend!!!!

Congrats! I just attended my nephews wedding yesterday as well. Although all he got for a honeymoon was a trip to Disney. I think you got a better deal by far!

Too funny Jim! That is actually what she does most of the time. She is really good at steering when I do sail work. She is also very good when we are anchoring.

She will learn it at her pace. I need to let her figure her pace out because she has the interest, I just don't want to push it.

I also think that B&Bs and marinas are good ideas every few days to make it more of a vacation for her!

Finding an Admiral is a tough thing to do. To find one that is willing to learn the ropes is even tougher. Good luck to the both of you. And remember, above all else...

I think it was all that hard work and research you put into the hair dryer that did it. I was wondering how that turned out.... Looks like "for the best"! Wish you both a lifetime of happiness.

The B&B is a good idea. Last season the admiral and I took our first week long cruise to Nantucket. Our anniversary week. She made me promise that she would not have to sleep on the boat for the full week. We broke the week up with 2 days at a B&B and it was nice to sleep in a real bed.

I suppose you won't want to read but if you did, get ahold of: The Motion of the Ocean: 1 Small Boat, 2 Average Lovers, and a Woman's Search for the Meaning of Wife by Janna Cawrse Esarey. Their recent honeymoon is a cruise to the south seas. A very, very funny book and very, very well written. Best wishes
