Goin' Batty Over Battens

Just recently got my sail back from SailCare, and was trying to get the battens back in the pockets (partial battens), I can't seem to get the end back in the pocket. Am I doing somthing wrong? Is there a certain way to properly install battens? Sail is a UK sail, boat is a hunter 26.5. I hope someone can help, wife and I tried for an hour with no luck on any of the four battens. Battens

Had the same problem this spring with my 35.5 UK sales. Apparently the sails shrink a little in the process. I called Sailcare and they weren't unfamiliar with the problem. My battens were actually a little long before sending them off and stuck out of the pocket a little. Anyway, they suggested and I wound up cutting about 3-4 inches off and they fit fine. Be sure to wrap them with electrical tape or duct tape so the batten doesn't splinter when you cut it. Otherwise Sailcare did an awesome job.
