Would like to hear from anyone having experience, pro or con, using Globe impellers in their raw water pumps.

Never had a problem

Always replaced at commissioning time and the old one always looked like new. Kept the old one as an emergency spare but never needed it. Tim R.

Just bought one

I just bought one but it came in after I needed it. I replace my worn one with the standard Yanmar but have the Globe as a spare. It looks like a good replacement. If I would have had both on hand at the same time I would have used the Globe because of its "run dry" reputation. I emailed the company about "ok whatif it does come appart, will it be harder to clean out. The said don't worry it won't happen??? I too would like to know if anyone HAS run one dry for an extended period of time.

Globe impellors

Asked my Yanmar mechanic about them. he indicated they would wear out the pump at an accelerated rate, so I've decided to just change the original equipment every couple hundred hours. if anyone has a lot of hours on a globe impellor, I'd like to hear about it. Bryce
