What is the most effective method of clearing windows and hatches of scratches and that smkey look? Or do they need to be replaced?

Try Brasso
Yes,that's right Brasso, with a soft cloth. I read that here on these message boards and gave it a try on my '92 Hunter 28 ports. It took some patience and rubbing but it cleared up the smokey plastic. I found it at my local Ace Hardware. You can polish some of your brass while your at it! sv Cowardly Lion H28
