And I thought I was unique!! I lost my 2 year old digital camera the very first time we took our new-to-us Irwin 37' out for a short spin around! I thought the occasion definitely called for a picture, grabbed my camera and stuck it in the pocket of my sweatshirt! Sure enough, we brought her into dock, I grabbed a line to help tie her up, and my camera slipped right out the pocket, bounced one time on deck, and right into the water! We figured it was our initial donation to Davy Jones or whatever!! I was grumpy for a few hours, but then realized, of course I would get a newer, sleeker, more powerful camera for Christmas! And now I know to wear jackets with zippers at all times onboard!!!

steaks, asparagus (they roll), cooking utensils

mostly food stuffs, off the back grill,,,my kids rib me all the time!....oh and sunglasses, and a spinnaker tacker, and screw drivers (they roll), sockets (they roll), bottle of wax (it rolls) our terrier he sinks! even with his pathetic little life jacket on.,,,so that was a quick reprieve., um boat poles,,,yep they roll,and brushes (they sink),,,,I took our 42" wheel off the pedestal last spring and was passing it to my wife ( I was going to take it home to apply a cover),,,yep slipped out of hand,,,ROLLED across the cockpit hit the lifeline and!,,,,,I took a dive and caught it,,,,,I had deep blue bruises for a month on that one..whew!...

well, a few weeks ago i lost an outboard

I put my outboard on my back rail while i was docked at a public dock, loading my groceries. Since i was fixing to put it on my dingy, i didn't screw it down. Then a big 40+ foot powerboat decides to come by at full speed on the ICW, resulting in me taking wake waves beam-on. It rocked my boat 45 degrees it was so bad, and my outboard was lost. I couldn't get it with my boat hook and i didn't care to dive for it....
