I feel a bit stupid but here it is: Just got a hunter 26 1995. I need to change some light bulbs in the cabin and can't find the way to get the covers off!!! I'm worried I may break them! So who can help me? Hope there is a lot of patient helpers out there because I will most likely need more help and tricks. By the way, towed my boat 1200 miles from Missouri to my home town (about 1 hour south of Ottawa) in 2 days (21 hours). Was a piece of cake!!! Those bearing buddies were very usefull. Thanks! Pat

pry 'em

I have the same boat and had the same concern. Eventually I took a very small bladed screw driver and pryed the round plastic domes off. They pop right off with that method because it really pushes the plastic inward horizontally first before pulling it down and out.

I wondered about this also. I pried between the clear lens and the white plastic. The lens popped off.

Thank you all for your replies

Thank you all! I will try it. However, the lights are not like the picture Roy posted. To switch them on, I must twist them. There are no on and off buttons. This forum is great. I looked at the archives and got alot of info! Keep answering! Pat

Pop it out

Paul, Pop the bulb out first (it's a 'blade' type of thing - just grasp firmly and pull). Then you can get all the pertinent information - I bought my replacements at an auto parts store, since it was the same type of bulb as in newer model tail lights. Or course, your local West Marine will happily offer the same product for 40% more. :) Dave Crowley h-26 Wind Dreamer
