God's Country
I have a trailer and have absolutely no need for it. I'm already in God's country. The Puget Sound of Western Washington State and British Columbia is the best sailing grounds I know of. I can sail year round and don't have to hide from the sun in the afternoon. The scenery is breath taking. The anchorages are all over the place and easy enough to set the hook or catch a mooring ball. The wind is fairly moderate most of the time and the weather is pleasant enough once you get acclimated to the area.

If I had a trailer (and a truck) I would take a road trip across country stopping to visit many of the national parks. Then, when I got to California, I would put the O'Day 23 in the water and the truck on a shipping container and both of us would be off to Kauai.

Try the Bay
The Cheasapeake Bay - So many places to go & sea. Launch at various points - North - Central - South parts of the Bay. Lots of protected anchorages for an overnight. Check Gunkholers Guide to the Chesapeake Bay.

Thailand
Beautiful limestone rock formations. My other hobby is rock climbing, so this has been the dream for a while now! Sail up and climb right out of the boat! Plus, I understand that you can live like a king there for little money.

No Tow Needed
I don't need to tow to go where the sailing is the best in the world, North Channel in Canadian waters of Lake Huron. (At the northern most waters of Lake Huron. But if I couldn't sail to it from where I am, I'd certainly tow to get there.

North Channel
I agree. The North channel is an enchanted sailing venue with the Georgian Bay right next door. A bit longer passage to the Caribbean and the ocean has it's merits, but it just isn't as nice. No interest in a trailer here. john

Paradise for me is Moreton bay in queensland
Moreton Bay, on teh doorstep of Brisbane has got to be one of the best crusing grounds anywhere. There are 365 islands that make up the entire Moreton bay area, one for every day of the year. There is absolutely minimal development, the waters are very clean for being so close to a major centre, heaps of every type of seafood to be caught, and unlimited quiet anchorages to try out. We have so many varieties of marine life that you can see to make every trip memorable. It only takes me 35 minutes to tow our mac 26D to our club and launch and we are immediately in paradise, doesn't get much better than that.

Couple of places
I've been to the San Juans, really loved them and will return. However, for something a little more out of the way, I'd like to spend a month or two cruising the coast and islands of southern Norway.
