Getting hammered today

No work getting done today. Check out the web cam at my marina this morning. It is looking south east. I'm on the hard essentially right under the camera wide open to the east. Wind chill is 30 now and dropping as the wind increases all day. Yuch! The docks just went through extensive repair. http://76.193.241.142/view/index.shtml

Damm, and I thought this was a drinking post. Watching the camera move around and the waves breaking on the docks makes me think that maybe drinking is the answer. :) Tough news.

Speak for yourself! I got 5 good hours of work in today.

I sanded down and filled a crack in the plastic casing of my lead keel, mounted the 3/4" plywood (with epoxy, on a vertical surface, detailed post to come when project is complete) that the new electrical system will be mounted to, and re-oiled every single square inch of wood on the interior of the boat till it shined again (dalys seafin hard drying teak oil, great stuff, lasts for years).

I had hoped to get a coat of bottom paint on tonight, but the driving rain that rolled in a couple hours ago kinda put an end to that plan.

Did not get in any work today as it's blowing through about 35 with sheeting rain and lightning/thunder and ugly stuff.

However I did notice that it wasn't too hard to convince Rob ;)

I'm in City Island for the winter, while not well protected, it is at least protected from weather coming directly from the atlantic by a long island, so winds and waves are always less than the atlantic coast. it was blowing about 20kts in the marina today, no thunder or lightning while I was there, but I left about an hour after it started when the rain turned from mist to actual large drops...

I got a bunch of work done inside the boat :) it was a bit windy outside but not much rain till 3 PM

We got an inch of rain throughout the night and have just started to let up. I was thinking of waxing this week, but I don't care to be tromping in the mud.

We got your hammering last night. 25-30kts winds and driving rain. It's still raining this morning, but hoping to be able to get some inside work in today.
