Well Im back in town...I hope you all figured out that I WAS NOT Pete or Fred.. and just wanted the madness to stop on the Expert thread..which I see has been shut down..and I see all the offending posts have been removed ,including my attempt to lighten everybody up and make some levity of the situation... so maybe things didnt get worked out by my attempt of levity as I hoped after all.. Hopefully we all can agree to disagree in the future without resorting to belittling each other who ever you are ...Emotions can run high and get frazzled here I know.. Oh and if you were one of the ones I used to make my point..Thats because I like you..and figured you already knew that..so thought it would help in defusing the situation. Scott PS: My Daughters team lost all their games so no preimer soccer for them this year..:(

I agree!

Can't we all just get along? This is a place for sailor to help each other on project, or share sailing stories. Not to get uptight about postings. Maybe a few jokes too!

Scott, thanks, that was very generous.

I need to apologize for my fast uncaring finger pointing words. I hope things are well with you. r.w.landau EDITED: we can get along but chances are there will always be much disagreement, or caveats except to get along. Best to all. Does the no preimier soccer mean more sailing? Does she like sailing?

Count me in

I'm with you Scott / Still raining. I am perfectly willing to forgive and forget. I tried to tell everyone you weren't me. But some how my posts dissapeared. Not sure why. Hmmmm. On the bright side we had two, (count 'em) two 40 plus posts in two days. Your amigo, Fred.

More Sailing

Sounds like more sailing to me,I wish my kids would have found their own way to all the sports, it's not like they were going to make it to the pros. I know it did keep them out of trouble and me too. Nick

Stillraining, I am also guilty of crediting you with the latest series of posts

thread. I have since learned the Bill Roosa was the culprit and think the less of him for it. Your "Pete" and "Fred" I knew were a spoof for fun, but Bill's mind games the other nite were the product of a wry sense of humor.

It's Ok Ross

As I said...I did not create or post as Pete or Fred..and I knew I was taking a risk by excepting ownership of them...but I thought it worth it to try and give the originator a easy way to bow out and create some harmony within the thread...I guess it didnt work that way as when I returned from east of the mountains everything had blown up...Phil didnt get it either and sent me a email..telling me to take a break from SBO...which to his credit was put in a very ..very kind way...he too thinking I really was Pete and Fred....He is a great moderator and we all owe a big thanks of gratitude to him. I doubt I would do it over again seeing how it didnt help really ...but maybe it did..who knows...Whoever Pete was and to Fred also I wish them happiness and joy in there life today...Emotions can runn high on forms and I could easily run that way too... Anyway...I want all of you to know I personaly think very highly of all of you and I hope my humor about any of you repectifully in the future will not be tainted by all of this misunderstanding..And espiceally believe me when I tell you that if I jest people it is truly because I like you and feel we have a good enough friendship over the electron highway to get away with it..so in my "Im Pete & Fred" post if you got taged consider it a compliment..I do not kid around with people I dont like ...I ignore them. Scott

Easy to offend, many are..

I generally try to stick to what I know which is electrical - I am learning daily about sailing and boats. Someday I hope to know as much as many wise men here.I have in the past made some quick off the cuff comments - one I truly regret but that's water under the bridge. I think that it is way to easy to type without thinking it thru, and it is very easy to mis-understand someones post. Many times you cant convey what you really mean without writing an essay but who has time for that. To attack someone is very different though - especially in the header. This forum is very similar to road rage - once your adrenaline gets pumped, your out for blood. Yet if we were face to face it would be completely different. This forum is the absolute best and I think very highly of allot of contributors here. It has taught me immensely - now if only I could get a spell checker!

OOOOOh maaan,,,,

What did I miss???? I hate it when that happens! Guy, my spell checker went away when Vista arrived on my new system. I'm back to cutting and pasteing until a new version of my old favorite comes out. But none of them can tell the difference between to and too, or your and you're. ;)

Fred F, how about signing in with some background.

If you sign in, your posts will have the facts that you are willing to put some background to your posts and willing to be accountable for the posts you make. Looking forward to your participation! r.w.landau If not, I hope Phil blows you away so that you can not post here again!

FredF - spell checker..

Quote: "Guy, my spell checker went away when Vista arrived on my new system. I'm back to cutting and pasteing until a new version of my old favorite comes out. But none of them can tell the difference between to and too, or your and you're." Fred just download Mozilla Firefox as your new browser. IT'S FREE!! It will import all your bookmarks and it's LOTS more secure than Internet Explorer could ever dream of being!! I honestly can't understand how anyone still uses IE. Since switching to Mozilla Firefox about five years ago, on both my Mac and my PC, I have never looked back and I have yet to even run IE on my computer since switching to Mozilla. I've also NEVER had a Trojan or virus since switching to Mozilla. I don't even run anti-virus software on two of my PC computers as an experiment and in 5 years on one and 3 on the other ZERO problems! The best part of Mozilla is that it will automatically underline misspelled words in RED. You simply right click on the word and the correct spelling options pop up!! Simple, much more secure, MANY, MANY more options, plug-ins and best of all it's FREE!!!!!! Mozilla Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ P.S. I also switched to their email program called Thunderbird and it blows Outlook/Outlook Express away!!!!! Again FREE!
