The B&G pilot seems to have gone out on my 2000 Hunter 420...what recommendations does anyone have for having it repaired versus changing brand. B&G is now owned by Simrad?

I use the pilot a great deal, set on auto compass (versus wind, etc.), and my display shows compass direction, rudder position...very helpful. Also I like the ability to change direction by either one or ten degrees or by pushing one button. The unit was replaced once...otherwise, the entire system is about 13 years old.

Any suggestions appreciated.

You seem to live in an area that should have lots of marine vendors near.... You need, IMHO, to go to a well-regarded bricks-n-morter marine electronics company and find out what your options are.
(We are blessed to have an excellent firm like that surviving in my fair city, and their electronics pricing almost always beats WM, too.)
B&G has made some good products over the decades.
Best of luck,
Loren
