Finally hauled my old Lancer 25 to Lake Lanier for some fall color.
I put in at six-mile creek public boat ramp off of hwy. 369 near Flowery Branch, Ga. The ramp angle here is rather shallow, necessitating a slight wetting of my rear bumper even with the extension out. The draft for this boat is 2 1/2 ft. If over 3 ft. you may want to consider another ramp. Some of the many marinas and sailing clubs located here will provide one for a fee. Also, all the other usual amenities are available.
The colors were very good, but due to the predominately GREY sky conditions for three days, the light for pics was less than dramatic.
Afternoon winds were predictable and ranged steadily between 7 to 10 kts. from 1400 hrs. to about 1800 hrs. Local boats in abundance even on the two week days.
Seemingly endless shoreline and islands of every description. Choice anchorages, all to ones self, were numerous.
The huge Striper population here is constantly displaying itself, rolling and splashing around in long, moving processions. My brother is one of the local tournament fishing nuts and says the bass fishing here is unbeatable.
Overall enjoyable stay with excellent fall conditions and zero hassle from the local or official elements. I'd recommend it! Follow link for pics as I couldn't get them on here again.

Nice story, nice day. But I could not see your pictures. Got: "This content is currently unavailable". We probably need to be your "Friend" in order to view.

What happens when you try to load them here on SBO?

Hello Ed,
After I select upload photos there is a very long working wait time and then a message that my browser closed the window to protect my computer. Tried yesterday and today. When I posted the facebook link I checked it and all seemed well. I will try again soon. Any rec is appreciated. Checked all my security settings and found no problem.

Maybe Phil will see this and have an idea. Sounds like one of your security settings(Tools, Internet Options, Security). Here on Vista I am at "Medium" and have no problem uploading pics.

That works! Thanks. Nice self photo too. I see that your lazy sheet isn't lazy. Is that intentional?

Hey Bonzai,

I had no problem seeing your pic's and enjoyed them. I was out on Lanier yesterday afternoon...wind was dead, then picked up to 6 knts for 2 hours. It was clear blue sky and high 60's...would have made for great pictures. It's nice to see the Lake Lanier Islands again...vs. "Lake Lanier Land Mass"!

Hey Ed! I had to look back to see , and it looks like some tension there alright. No, it wasn't by intent. Sharp eye there, Ed!

We have friends who have their C34 on LL and started a Catalina fleet there that includes all different size Catalinas, but is C34 Fleet 13. They have published a very neat LL chart book. Don't know if you've seen it, but I'll bet it helps with the "now you see 'em, now you don't" islands. Shows all the neat anchorages, too.
