Sometimes we seem to get off in all directions. Nothing wrong with that, but here is a real sailing question. Currently have the mast off the boat, for re-wire, paint and new mast step. While sanding on the boom, and having to pull all the lines out of the way I got to wondering. How many of you actually use all the sail controls available to you. Outhaul Downhaul Cunningham etc. And how many of you get the sails trimmed sort of close, sit back and consider that good enough. I will be the first to answer my own question and tell you that most of the time I am in the latter group. As I get older I find that I am less concerned about boat speed, not interested in whether I can point at 45 or 40 degrees, and more concerned about just sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the day. How do others do it.
