I'm adding solar to my boat and am about to install a GV-10-pb-12 Lead Acid Battery Controller. The guide indicates that a jumper should be used for flooded batteries (Multiple 6V's ) in order to add equalization charging. My question is, since I already have a Pro Mariner 40 Amp charger connected to the batteries, which I'm 99% certain condition the batteries, should I still use the jumper for the equalization charging? Thanks.... Jon

It was after not finding a support link on the manufacturers website that I posted the question... It occurred to me that they may have a facebook page so I asked how to get support... they provided me with an email.... Here is there reply to my question to anyone else facing this....

Initial Response...
If you have an alternate charger that equalizes the batteries than I would not recommend having the Genasun controller do it as well, unless of course you are not going to be access shore power for an extended period of time. (more than 2 months)

My followup
So if I understand correctly, unless I'm off the hook for an extended period, I should NOT use the jumper... Is this correct?

Follow up Response....
You should NOT use the jumper unless you are off away from shore power for an extended period of time. Also confirm that you other charger in fact does equalize the batteries just for sanity sake.
