I am looking for advice on which genset to install on my 343 and methods of installation. Anybody have any ideas?

I would think that in your neighborhood, solar panels would supply all the power you need. I keep my Beneteau on a mooring in Connecticut and have sufficient power for all appliances. You have much more sun than I. Solar panels don't wear out, make noise, burn fuel or break down. Jim

does a genset fit at all in a 343? I just bought one (well I'm just waiting for it to be delivered) and I went through this at length with the dealer, we couldn't find a genset which would fit so we didn't do it.

Aire; I use a Honda EU2000i on my 40. Put it on the bow and you'll hardly notice it running. (I only run mine about an hour a day, tho, and not to power AC)

I went to the factory at South Carolina and measured a large locker the boat has to stbd. It has access from inside the aft berth. From the measurements I took there, it seems a FP could fit and maybe a Nextgen. Modifs. would have to be made, of course, like internal divisions and mounting platform. I haven't received the boat either, it is supposed to be ready in factory by oct 19, here in PR by nov 5 or so. When it's here i will have more info.

Is there an inverter that can handle the amp peaks of the a/c compressor starting? Reason i am so concerned about a/c is the Admiral. If she doesn't get her a/c running, i will end up skippering alone (again). I used to have a 26 O'day with just the basics, ended up w/o crew after a couple of sweaty weeks of overnighters around the Islands.
