I have noticed that some O'Day 25 have genoa tracks to the aft at the cockpit. Is this for 135 - 150s? I was thinking about installing some but was concerned about sail shape

We are using the cockpit track for a high cut 135 (from a Catalina) and the front edge of the track is just, JUST forward enough for this sail .Probably would be OK for a 150.

Tracks that far aft are typically for asymmetrical spinnakers. Tracks for a 135 are usually near the forward end of the cockpit.

We can get away with the cockpit track because we have a very high clew on the 135. Its actually from a Catalina. The higher the clew, the further aft the lead goes.. I think you could use the track for a low cut 150 OK. We looked at relocating the track a bit more forward but its just too dificult to install without cutting holes in the interior liner. We are now thinking of reinstalling the original blocks and using sort of a "twing" to pull the jib sheet down when off the wind.

We used a jib sheet "twing" for years on a Mercator 30. So easy to use, even under load that it was used with out hesitation and with very good effect.

When the boats were designed there were very little in the way of roller furling headsails. Headsails were most likely a 100 and a 150. The block forward of the cockpit for the 100 and the track by the cockpit for the 150.
