My old 22 was never equipped for a genoa ... just a working jib led through a fixed block. I want to add a 135% genoa. Does anyone know whether there was "standard" mounting position for a genoa track on these boats? I saw one at another marina that had a track bolted on top of the teak toe rail. Didn't seem real wise to me. Thanks, Tom Monroe Carlyle Lake

Genoa Track

My '77 has the track on the teak toerail that you described above. It looks like it was stock. It is long enough that I have plenty of flexibility for adjustment fore and aft. It seems to be functional and secure as it is through-bolted with washer backers.

matt ... how does it lead?

Thanks Matt! I couldn't look at the boat I saw from the inside, and kind of assumed the track was just screwed onto the toe rail. Through bolting with washers as backing should be more than sufficient. Do you sheet straight from a block on the track to the winch? Any problems with leading angles? Tom
