I am a little puzzled about the way the genoa sheet is set up on my new M. Is the sheet supposed to run to the block on the rear and back to the winch. Seems very awkward that way.It also seem like the sheet runs at the wrong angle. I am thinking that there should be a block more forward to the genoa. Also I am planning on using rope clutches for all the lines. Where is the best place to locate a clutch for the genoa line?

Yes that's how it's run: You didn't say whether you had roller furling, but I am assuming that you do? Sheets back through blocks on aft tracks then around winch clockwise and back through cam-cleat. The small furling line should be run aft, and it's a good idea to use a small cam cleat for it too, instead of a standard cleat. You might look into getting some EZ-cleats from Bill at Boats4sail? They make the winch turn unecessary. Rope clutches are a little strong for the genoa sheets on an M. Get one for the main halyard, and daggerboard. Good sailing

Thanks

Richard, thanks for the info.Sounds like I'm going in the right direction. I'm planning on getting away from regular cleats for any lines. Too cumbersome when you're in a hurry.
