I am purchasing a North 155% genoa. How long of a sheet do I need for my new sail?

Sheet Length

Larger sail (than a working 110 jib) = longer sheets. Even though the clew of the sail comes further back than a standard Catalina 110 working jib, the length of the sheets have to consider the lazy side too. So the lazy sheet has to go from the unloaded winch, all the way around the mast and then back to the jib clew, which with a 155 could be halfway between the mast and the aft end of the cabintop. Also don't know if you have turning blocks on the outside of the coaming, which would add to the required length. Seems simple thing to measure. Best get longer rather than "just right" or too short and trim as needed.

General Rule of Thumb

By no means scientific, as jib size does make a difference, but I believe you should be ok with sheets that are 1.5x hull length (go with a couple 45 footers to be safe). I've heard that 2X is the general rule for spinnaker sheets. Trevor

I've also heard that 1 1/2 times the length of the boat is good. For my c27 I got 80ft total and it's plenty.
