As long as so many talented racers are checking in, has anyone upgraded the standard Genoa cars to low friction or ball bearing adjustable Genoa cars? My 28.5 has 1" tracks and I don't want to change up to 1-1/4" if there is something that will work with one inch track.

They have a nice... and affordable... adjustable car system. I have a good high-performance car set, but there is no way I can shorten up the lead under load. So, I'm looking into a set. Many of my cruiser-racer friends have installed them. Garhauer will often modify to suit, so give them a call or see their website. You are so right, it really seems dumb to have all that headsail adjusting gear and not have a good jib car adjustment. Rick D. PS: I am not amoung the talented racer group.

Garhauer is a good setup at a very good price. We've been using them for 11 years.

I'm with you

I had them on my Tripp 26 and the key most very important is to have the track or the deck marked to fast setting's. Just like with the car's you have now and knowing for the 155 what hole to adjust it to. We have a number on our 155 written on the sail as our starting point. If it is blowing 10 knots and we know it is pefect for the 155 then we start in say hole #12 from the aft end and we have a 12 written on the clue of the sail. That way we always know our starting point. On the Tripp we had lines drawn on the deck 1 inch plack lines every inch. With the starting point line being in red. If the wind piped up we would so very easly move the car aft 2 or 3 lines if the wind went light we would go forward 2 or 3 lines. But the biggest key is crew who know how to do this and when. I have not done this yet for I don't have the crew good enough to worry about this. But when I do we will install this system. Cliff "Red Dog"
