Gennaker

I am thinking of buying a North Sails gennaker G3. Does anyone have any experience rigging such a sail on a Mac 26? (If so I would love to see a diagram or photos)

Can you fly a gennaker from the Jib halyard? I am concerned because the block for the Jib halyard is below the forestay but the gennaker is flown outside of the forestay.

On my 22' Venture/MacGregor I fly my gennaker INSIDE the forestay, just like a genoa and it works well. I just attach the tack to a block and line allowing it to be pulled tight to use up-wind and loostened to fly as a spinnaker.

Duane's boat is a masthead rig. I belive that your Mac 26 is a fractional rig like the Mac 25. On my Mac 25 it is flown from the masthead. The spinnaker has a block about a ft above thw forestay and the jib and genoa are just below the forestay.
The tack is attached to a tack line that runs from the tack to my anchor roller via a block back to the cockpit. Before furling I used to use the jib down haul as a tack line. You will also find a doising sock makes it much more manageable especially while soloing.

You will need long sheets in that they need to run from the back of the cockpit around the front of the stay and back to the clew.
