We have a 2004 Hunter 33 with 16K factory air which needs 3kw/23.5 amps at start up. The diesel tank for the engine is on the port side behind the largest locker which has a shelf and is also located at the foot of the bunk in the aft cabin. The hotter it gets and the more we use our boat, the more occasions we wish we had air while away from shore power, and also wish for the convenience of having a generator permanently installed so there would be no problem running it while underway or while at anchor or docked with no shaore power and no problem with gasoline if we use the same diesel tank that the engine has already. Some say that we don't have adequate space, but some have also told us other things that have proven to be totally false. We will appreciate comments regarding our situation.

I understand your pain

but I have yet to find a diesel generator that doesn't take up to much room and cost a fortune. Some people are using the Honda generators and placing them on the swim platform when in use.
