Fischer Panda Is Only Way To Go

We listened to and read as much as we could about generators before we purchased our 450. Since we had decided to live aboard full time we tried to look at all the systems as we would if we were purchasing a new home. It is our new home!! Anyway, systems noise, engine noise, all those things were worth considering. When we heard the Northern Lights and the Kohler we decided it was just too much noise to make using the generator anything other than "only when absolutely essential". we figured that was like having air conditioning in a house and only using it when the heat was unbearable. That made the decision easy for us and we decided to spend the extra money on the Fischer Panda. We've slept with it running all night and powering the A/C. It has been great. We have about 120 hours on it so far and I think it is some of the best money we spent on our 450. If it's not too late, at least check out the Fischer Panda Mini 8. Hope this helps.

noise

Been following this thread for a while and was intrigued by the sound levels Rankin posted. We have a H410 with a Panda mini 8 installed in the post transom locker. Took my RS DB meter out this weekend and measured the sound level in the aft stateroom with both the A/C and geset running. 58db sound level. Substantial difference over what Rankin psoted. Go with the panda. Bryce S/V Spellbinder H410
