Gelcoating Deck

Hi All,

I'm going to be doing some extensive deck repairs on a 33' Yamaha that will lead to a complete spray of the deck with Duratec. Just curious if it is worth my while to remove the toerail (everything else is getting pulled) or can the boat be sprayed with the rail in situ?

It goes without saying that this is a massive job. Is there an ideal ( cheap) method of wrapping the top of the boat to prevent drifting spray while in the yard? My work up to this point hasn't required this degree of attention to containment on the deck.

Half of a painter work is prep. Use 3" painters tape and attach plastic to cover sides

Thanks, but I was curious if there was a containment method that would allow fresh air intake while keeping the atomized Duratec from escaping.

I'm going to pull the toerail; what the hell, it could use some servicing, and taping really doesn't do a good enough job whilst spraying gel.

I've decided to do a restoration on the Yamaha 33' as the tired old girl could do with a make over.
