I did some repair of some holes on my stern and filled in the holes and sanded and now want to spray over some new gelcoat.
I have a can of white gelcoat from Hunter and want to spray the gelcoat with one of those small portable sprayers so what or how much MK mix do I use or what is the mix ratio.

Needs to be pretty thin to spray well with a Pre-Val. Do a little test. If the gelcoat is not waxed you will need to spray PVA over it (Pre-Val works great for this, too) to seal out the air till it sets. You can also use waxed paper, etc. taped over the gelcoat, but kind of defeats the purpose of spraying the gelcoat in the first place.

No need to spray. Before you continue your gel coat have a look at the short lessons beginning at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxzCZ-5lMxY&list=UU0kDqq-pSzdqFUk3oTaHBuA

There are three lessons on gel coat repair - preparation, color matching, and finishing.

These lessons are dead on accurate in my estimate and you will surely get a very good result if you follow them.

By the way recruit a female person when you run the gel coat/tint samples. Ladies do not suffer impaired color vision - whereas many males do.
