I've got a Hunter 335 with too far gone gelcoat to bring back. The question is: Awlgrip or re gelcoat from anyone with experience? I've rolled and tipped Awlgrip w/an old 30 footer I had and it turned out good. Seems the all the work is in prep or after spraying depending on which path you go down....

You will get strong opinions on this both ways. I know an Oday 23 sprayed with Imron (automotive equivalent of Awlgrip) in 1983 and today - 30 years later - still looks fantastic. I am amazed every time I see it.

Gelcoat applied on an exterior surface - as opposed to going on first in a smooth mold - will demand a LOT OF WORK to get anywhere near the finish you will get with the Awlgrip.
