My boat was hit
and I now have a 6 X 6 inch hole in the gelcoat on the hull above the waterline on my 1992 Hunter 33.5. I Peeled back the gelcoat, which came off in chips. There is a thin coat of laminate attached under the gelocoat. Under the laminate looks like a foam filler. The thin laminate under the gelcoat definetely has some fiber in it that looks like kitty hair. I looked at the west system to replace the laminate but they don't have the kitty hair filler. There is an evercoat product that has the filler but I prefer to use the West System if possible. Another option I am considering is laying some cloth in along with the West System.I prefer not to haul the boat at this time. At this point, I want a resonable repair that will keep out moisture and look half decent to get me through the sumnmer. Can "kitty hair" be mixed with West System? Any suggestions will be apprecitated.
