I have a new hunter and notice on the deck, non skid, that there are several, triangular shaped areas that appear to have been, or are defects in the mold. They are only noticeable at a distance, and are almost like shadows. Has anyone experienced this or have any comments as to the cause and remedy. I am wondering if they can be re-done and gelcoated so as not to show. Thanks. Steve.

Gelcoat repairs

From what you describe it sounds like they have repaired small damaged areas. It is very hard to match the nonskid especially on the grey. Its not likely to be a mould defect. These areas will show under different light angles.

Gelcoat Repair question ?

Thanks for the input. Would you think this is acceptable on a new boat. ?

Triangles

I bought a new Hunter a few years ago. I had one of the trianges you descripted in the non skid on the cabin top. I came to the same conclusion--it must be a repair made at the time of manufacture or they dropped a heavy tool. Anyway I've never had a problem with it and I'm sure it is dry and secure. You might drop a line to Hunter and ask what it might be. Waine
