gelcoat coverup

I have a hunter 25. Shes an old girl,1974. I have decided after coming back from a larger boat, that she is the girl for me.The problem is the gelcoat is blistered and cracked.I have sanded all the bottom paint off and I am ready for gelcoat repair.I have seen blisters repaired with automotive body filler and I wonder.I have heard of epoxy barrier coats and I wonder.I wonder if someone can give me the lowdown so I can go down and float this boat.

Stick with the marine epoxies. I believe that automotive body fillers permit moisture to seep through. I also have a 1974 25. Granted its not worth much, but it sails well and is worth the few extra bucks.
